Plastid has been awarded 500.000 NOK in a second Internationalisation competition through NHO.

Plastid has a granted patent in the UK.
First Full Time Employee
We now have our first full time employee - Berit Elin Nedrebø - as a Laboratory Research Technician. In addition we are contracting Hong Lin from the University to work on research projects.

New Board Member
Plastid is pleased to announce that Dr David
Lawrence (formerly Director of Research for
Syngenta) has been appointed to the board
of Plastid AS.
Plastid contracts technician from IRIS
Plastid has contracted a technician from IRIS in a full time position for a minimum of 6 months to work on client and own research projects. In addition, Dr Jodi Maple from the Møller Lab at UiS has a formal part time position with Plastid as Head of R&D.

The World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology & Bioprocessing, held July 19-22, 2009 in Montreal , Quebec.
Plastid awarded FUGE project funding with EWOS Innovation

Dr Tony Sedgwick (UK biotech entrepreneur and former clinical development scientist at Roche) has joined Plastid as Board Chairman together with Dr Geir Gogstad (Rikshospitalet, Oslo) as Board Member.

Norge satser stadig mer på bioteknologisk forskning. - Vi skal vi være forsiktige med genmanipulering, men metoder som er omstridt i dag, vil være akseptert om noen år, mener forsker.

– Selvsagt skal vi være forsiktige med gen- manipulering. Men det har vært for mye skremsels- propaganda i Norge. Og genteknikk kan være effektiv mot kreftsvulster.
Målsetting: Programmet skal bidra til at norsk kompetanse på fagfeltet holder et høyt internasjonalt nivå, og at Norge er en attraktiv partner innen internasjonalt samarbeid. Programmet er Norges største satsing på bioteknologi.
Budsjett 2007: ca. 165 millioner kroner.

Med revolusjonerende metoder skal selskapet Plastid AS produsere proteiner. Professor Simon Geir Møller står i spissen for selskapet, som er Universitetet i Stavangers første biotekselskap.
